Sony Repair Service
Sony Handycam Camcorder DCR TRV11
As mentioned previously I finally decided to send my 5 year old TRV11 camcorder to Sony repair. The cost of over $400.00 gave me chills but I really loved the camcorder and found most new ones at around 400 bucks to be nowhere near as capable.

The repair is now complete and, having done some quick tests, I found it to work as well as it did in the past. I won’t go into all the details but am very happy with the outcome. We will see how I feel after I tape a wedding in Mexico in the near future.

Audible.com - Audible Books for your MP3 Player
I have been an Audible.com booster for 3 or 4 years now and have yet to find anything negative about the service. I first used an Audible Otis player. They no longer offer that product although mine and many others still work and accept downloads. I now use an Creative Movo with 256 megabytes of storage. It is small and easy to operate. I loaded over 28 hours of books from Audible on it when I traveled to Egypt last year. Audible now offers players from a list so long that I will not even attempt to list them all. Apple Ipods, Creative, RCA, iRiver, Sandisk, and Philips to name just a few. The ones with 2 Gigabytes and up of memory make me very envious. If you already have a player from one of the companies they support you are ahead of the game.

I listen while at the gym, on a plane, in the car using an adaptor, or I burn the books to CDs for long travels by car. I am not a big fan of listening while sitting at my computer

To quote their website: Audible has more than 70,000 hours of audio programs from more than 200 content partners that include leading audio book publishers, broadcasters, entertainers, magazine and newspaper publishers, and business information providers.

There are several plans available. Although I think they no longer offer it I am currently a member of UltimateListener™. I get 12 audio book credits per year. The audio book credits can be used to purchase any audio book product. The audio book credits expire 2 years from the date they are issued. In addition, UltimateListener members get discounts of 50% off any subscription product and 20% off audio book product not bought using my UltimateListener audio book credits.

They also have 4 levels of commitment.. Starting at 14.95 a month for 1 audible credit per month and topping out at 229.50 per year for 24 book credits per year. That is less than 10 bucks per nook. An outstanding buy. They have recently changed pricing structure and plans available so you will need to go to their website to check the various offers. I highly recommend this service. Go to www.Audible.com and check it out.
