PUROSOL Whats to say about cleaning solutions for Optical or Plasma surface cleaners? That is what I thought until I checked out two products for ORIGIN Laboratories. I have been using a water dampened sheet of paper towel to clean my flat panel displays. Sometimes that is what I also use on my eye glasses. When I feel high tech I spray some free eye glass cleaner that an Ophthalmologist gave me for Christmas last year.
Now that I have been introduced to the PUROSOL products I am pretty sure I have found a better way to keep these items spotless and dust free. Is my decision based on Scientific testing? NO! I just used the two products for a week on the items they are formulated for and watched the results.
The cleaner used for Flat Screens works very well. I wet down the special clothe that is provided in the package and ran it lightly over the screen. The screen was really dirty so I wiped it again. Now the cloth was dirty but the screen was spotless. One of the features of the product is that it repels static. I can assure you that in my case it does. I have yet to clean the screen a second time and it is dust free and as clean as it was when I took it out of the box.
The cleaning of eyeglasses is a different matter. Repelling dust works well but the finger print smears and sweat droplets continue to be a problem. I can say there is no dust on them.
What makes this better than other cleaners used for the same work? I have no idea. The press releases that came with the products mention the following:
Purosol’s proprietary formula cleans with state-of-the-art enzyme technology, which causes a disruption of the bonding molecules which hold dirt, salt, oil and grime to the lens surface without disturbing the lens coating or surface. Traditional solvent-based cleaners strip the lens bare, damaging (and eventually destroying) sensitive lens coatings.
They also mention that PUROSOL is a Sterile Aqueous Solution. This seems to mean water and other things produced it a clean and environmentally controlled area
I don’t really have any idea of how it works or what is in but it does do the job for me. It is not cheap but I like it
