Droid Pro by Motorola for Verizon Wireless
If you are a Blackberry user who longs for the Android experience but love the QWERTY keyboard at the bottom of your Blackberry the Droid Pro is for you. I tested the Droid Pro for about three weeks and found it a good replacement for Blackberry phones with plenty of Droid fun thrown in. Verizon shipped this phone to me to test just prior to my trip to CES.
Pros: You get to live in both worlds. If you need the virtual keyboard it is right there in horizontal glory
Cons: You lose a portion of the Touch screen to accommodate the physical keyboard. The Phone locked up twice during my test period. It was no problem to open the back, remove the battery for a minute or so, and then put it back in. I have occasionally had this issue with other phones.
The Droid Pro uses a lot data time as do all Smartphones. A Data Plan is required in your service contract. You can expect big bills if you do not setup your account properly. I suggest checking after a month or so and changing data and other options to fit your needs. I use less data time than some so I try to monitor all billing and restructure if allowed. If you are a big user go for the largest account level available. IF you can find an unlimited account (They are disappearing) go for it. If you have Wi-Fi you can setup many phones to save money when you are on the Internet. This can make a mammoth reduction in your bill if you are a big user.

There are more features on the Droid Pro than I can list but some important details are below.
For complete Features and SPECS CLICK HERE.
MOST INTERESTING FEATURES (in my opinion) 1: Support for many e-mail types. I setup my Yahoo and ATT/Outlook accounts along with Gmail. 2: Adobe Flash for those who wish it was available on every phone. 3: Edit, Share, and View Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Docs. 4: Password support and encryption if those of you who need to hide stuff. 5: Connect up to 5 other Wi-Fi devices including Laptops using the Wi-Fi HotSpot Feature 6: My Verizon and Backup assistant support for people like me who need multiple backups stored everywhere. 7: Altogether a bit of fun with a business attitude.
The Droid Pro is a fine substitute for your Blackberry. It is also a great texting phone for those who are comfortable with the external physical QWERTY keyboard. I have become used to, and love, the horizontal virtual keyboard that come with most Smartphone/Android products. My big thumbs are not made for the external physical keyboard. There are many users out there who will be quite happy with the Droid Pro because of that physical keyboard. I can live happily with that. The Droid Pro may be for you. Take a look on line or at your local Verizon Store.
