Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 for Verizon
Photo provided by Verizon
When I was arranging the loan of the Droid 3 I was offered a test period with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I had just finished a hands-on test period with the AT&T version but thought it might be interesting to see if the Verizon unit was any different. They were kind enough to include the Galaxy Tab in the box. The Verizon offering had some snazzy startup colors and rings. It also seemed to work a little faster when searching and performing other tasks. The Verizon Apps market was easier to work with. Otherwise things seemed to be the same as far as operating both units. To see photos taken with the Verizon version on my Flickr site CLICK HERE.
I really like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 from both providers. Since both Tablets were Wi-fi only I was unable to test other services by either provider. Both also used Android Honeycomb. Only you can decide which provider provides better service in your area. I do not have 4G access at this time so that was not a factor.
My biggest issue with most Tablets is the short supply of connecting ports. I know there are connectors/dongles available for most optional add-ons and the thin format of most Tablets precludes providing many. I have heard that Lenovo is releasing one as I write this. Even so the Galaxy series is one of the better offerings to date.
