HTC Inspire for AT&T
An interesting situation I have never do comparisons of Cell phones. But I just completed a review on the HTC ThunderBolt for Verizon and find I have an ALMOST identical phone to test. That is the HTC Inspire 4G for AT&T. I checked the HTC site and did a comparison of the two phones on the HTC site. CLICK HERE This comparison shows they are somewhat different under the hood. The reason for looking deeply into the differences is the amount of cash you will spend. The Inspire costs $99.99 with a 2 year Contract at AT&T while the Thunderbolt costs $249.99 with the Verizon 2 year contract. You will have to decide which will work best for you and your pocket. (Both phone are provided by PR firms and are returned after testing.)
Since the capabilities are somewhat the same it may depend on which service provider has the best signal in your area. Are the differences enough? I think they are both very capable phones. The Thunderbolt has more memory with a 32 GB SD card while the Inspire has only 4 GB of ROM. After looking over both phones I think the ThunderBolt is somewhat better equipped for use by those who need super capabilities. The Inspire is for those who want a VERY capable Smartphone but may or may not want to spend the extra dollars required to get the ThunderBolt. It is often what we WANT that overcomes what we NEED. Having said that lets take a look at the HTC Inspire 4G for AT&T.
The Inspire has a setup app that does assist you in getting started. Once that is complete you will need to go through the settings using the Settings APP to be sure options are set as you want them to be. The service provider may be able to assist you with these tasks. If not there are a number of Videos on the AT&T site to assist you. Also a complete user manual can be downloaded from the AT&T site. The 4.3" super LCD capacitive touch screen has a resolution of 480x800 and is more than adequate.
I found the HTC Inspire camera capabilities to be equal to other 8MP cameras. A front facing camera lens would have been super. CHECK MY FLICKR SITE FOR SAMPLE PHOTOS. To see some of the differences between both phones Check COMPARE from the HTC site. I did find it easy to download photos and videos from the phone to my PC using the USB cable than it was with the ThunderBolt.
HTCSense.com For lost phones is something I had not encountered until this phone. I can see the need for it when your phone goes missing at home or almost anywhere. It does need GPS turned ON. Here are some shots of the HTC SENSE APP to give some idea how it is setup. With the increased cost of Smartphones going up and the larger issue of the possibility of letting valuable date, important files, and private messages go into other hands we all need to be more careful. I would consider using this option if I had an FTC phone.

I found the HTC Inspire for AT&T to be interesting enough that I would feel fine using it as my daily phone/Data partner on the road or at home. HTC states the Inspire 4G is a premium media-centric phone. I agree. The price is inviting compared to others. Before buying any phone/service be sure to get a solid idea of your monthly bill. Data use and other cost can really hurt after the fact.
