Open Clamshells, toy packaging, boxes, CDs, DVDs, Zip Ties, Twist Ties, Straps, open battery compartments and more than I can think of right now. The jaws are offset so you can get closer to the job at hand. There is a retractable utility knife (Box Cutter) built-in at the end of one handle.
