Others when I find I forgot to charge an MP3 player or some other battery driven product while on the road and far from an AC receptacle. Of course some of my gadgets have accessories that can be plugged in where the cigarette lighter used to be. Many do not. These are the times when a simple product like the TuneJuice Universal by Griffin is most valuable. It is another one of my NO BRAINER picks. Three AA batteries and a USB cable that can connect to your chargeable item and you are back in business. Retail Price: $24.99

The TuneJuice unit is all dark gray and chrome and has a fuzzy feel. It turns on when your USB cable is connected to it and the product you need to charge. At that point a green light indicates it is charging. When your item is charged it is time to disconnect. During these tests I did charge my iPod and Sansa Fuze without a problem. Also the Samsung Clamshell phone I use to test accessories. All were charged more than enough to make them useful for an hour plus.
You will need to have a big box of AA batteries on hand if you are a long time without current or have a number of chargeable items. Rechargeable AAs will also work. But I like buying standard AAs to use.

The TuneJuice Universal Charger would have been very helpful when I was traveling in small towns in China and needed a quick charge. Even if you never leave the city and your lights never go out for 24 hours in a row the TuneJuice Universal Charger is cool and inexpensive enough for road worriers and other users to take a look.
